$pepe launches
A frog ships with nothing
Somebody with no name deploys $PEPE. No presale. No team allocation. No roadmap. No utility. No plan of any kind. It does a billion dollars in under three weeks, because that is simply how 2023 worked. By 2024 everyone has wandered off.
He says“That was my first company. We had a great culture.”

circle lists
Circle goes public
Circle lists on the NYSE as CRCL at $31 a share. Jeremy Allaire rings the opening bell. The stock closes at $83.23, up 168% in one day — the kind of morning that gets photographed from about nine angles.
He says“I was on the podium. There is a photo. Look at the photo. Are you looking at the photo.”

arc announced
Circle unveils Arc
Circle announces Arc on its Q2 earnings call — a Layer-1 chain built so stablecoins can settle properly. Allaire calls it a defining moment. It is, in every respect, an extremely normal corporate announcement.
He says“Jeremy came to me first. Just us two. We talked it through until sunrise and at the end he cried a little.”

public testnet
Arc opens to institutions
The public testnet goes live with over a hundred institutions on it, including BlackRock, Visa and Goldman Sachs. Serious people. Serious infrastructure. Extremely large spreadsheets.
He says“I onboarded every one of them personally. I know all their birthdays.”

token presale
$222 million raised
Circle raises $222 million in an Arc token presale. The network is valued at around $3 billion. At no point in this process does anybody meet a frog.
He says“I was consulted on the number. I said more. They said $222 million. We compromised.”

mainnet
Arc mainnet goes live
Founding validators: BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, ICE, Mastercard, MoneyGram, SBI, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo, Visa. One of the heaviest institutional line-ups ever assembled for a chain launch. Not one of them has been told about the frog.
He says“That’s when line 41 goes in. TO MAKE IT COOL. I’ve already ordered the cake.”
